A new study published in the “Journal of Family Psychology” shows that couples who live together prior to marriage are more likely to divorce than couples who wait until marriage before sharing a roof. That flies in the face of the conventional “wisdom” of today’s culture which tells us you have to “test drive” your spouse before you buy her. Apparently (big surprise) that selfish, “keep your options open” attitude doesn’t build a strong foundation for a lasting relationship.
The reality is, there is no such thing as an easy person to live with. We’re all sinners and will annoy, anger, and offend our partners with regularity. That’s why it’s so important to have a sincere and secure committment in place rather than just a casually-shared space.
The Word of God, and science, back me up on this one…
