Obama’s Keating Five Hypocrisy

Obama is trying to make a big deal out of the Keating Five scandal of the 1980’s, an ethics investigation that eventually saw McCain completely exhonorated.  But Obama doesn’t seem to mind former Sen. John Glenn’s (D-Ohio) involvement (who was also exhonorated), since Glenn has done a lot of work for Obama’s campaign, even as recently as this past weekend.

I don’t see why it’s even relavent though.  Obama has tried to justify his connections with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers because he bombed buildings in the 70’s (which apparently is beyond the political statute of limitations), and then has the gall to tell us we shouldn’t vote for John McCain because he was cleared in an ethics investigation in the 80’s.  Why should it matter what John McCain did when Obama was only 28 years old?

And if it’s such a big deal, why does another exhonorated member have a prominent role in Obama’s campaign?

  1. hmmm…

Bill Ayers was a member of a group that participated in one bombing (not bombings), in the 60’s, not the 70’s. when Obama was 8 years old.

John McCain knowingly excepted what amounts to bribes from a felon…

    Not really comparable

  2. Ayers was actively involved in the group which continued operations into the 70s. And it’s not really comparable. A bombing is way worse than a bribe that never happened.

  3. Spc. Smith,

You really need to read up the activities of the Weather Underground before making such statements.
