Did Obama Lie About Kissinger During the Debate?

Apparently, former Secretary of State/Diplomatic Genius Henry Kissinger was none too pleased with how Obama was representing him during the first debate last Friday.  Said Kissinger:

“Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality.”

Geared to reality!!!  Ouch!  What does that say about the freshman Senator from Illinois, who has spent most of his Senate tenure thus far running for President?

  1. The statesman who should attempt to direct private people in what manner they ought to employ their capitals, would not only load himself with a most necessary attention, but assume an authority which could safely be trusted, not only to no single person, but to no council or senate whatever, and which would nowhere be so dangerous as in the hands of a man who had folly and presumption enough to fancy himself fit to exercise it.AdamSmithAdam Smith, Wealth of Nations, 1776
