Not that I’ve ever read one of his horror novels (and I certainly never will now), but Stephen King has proved once again his impressive knack for fiction:
“I don’t want to sound like an ad, a public service ad on TV, but the fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don’t, then you’ve got, the Army, Iraq, I don’t know, something like that. It’s, it’s not as bright. So, that’s my little commercial for that.”
Where did this ridiculous Liberal talking point come from suggesting that only the uneducated lower class serves in the military or that it’s a refuge for those who have no have no other marketable skills? Did they somehow get the protection of liberty confused with welfare programs? I don’t know, but their little white lie has already been thoroughly debunked.
Besides, didn’t King learn anything from the firestorm that ensued when former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass) made the same ridiculous assertion?
