Obama’s Losing Big In Pennsylvania?

A quick note to Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill).  When you describe voters like this, they rightly get offended and decide not to vote for you:

“It’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Is that not the epitome of Liberal arrogance?  People trust in God and themselves to provide for their needs rather than a government that won’t even enforce its own laws.  If they put all their hope in government, then they would see Obama as he sees himself… the messiah!

And how is this explanation supposed to help?

Barack Obama addressed an enthusiastic crowd Saturday at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., expanding on his theme of bitter U.S. voters.

“What is absolutely true is that people don’t feel like they’re being listened to,” the Democratic presidential contender said. “So they pray and they count on each other and they count on their families. You know this in your own lives.

” And what we need is a federal government that is actually paying attention. A government that is fighting for working people day in and day out making sure that we are trying to allow them to live out the American dream and that’s what this campaign is about.”

What an inspiring message!  It’s wrong that you should have to “count on [your] families…”  You should all be dependent on the Federal government to deliver the “American dream” to you.  Don’t hard-working people find this a tad insulting as well or is everyone just looking for a government handout these days?

  1. Most Americans ARE bitter because the current President and his fellow goons have raped the economy, our military, our civil rights, and alienated us from our allies. That’s just a start. Republicans have had almost 8 years to bring about near ruination and thinking people realize this. Heck yes there are hundreds of thousands of bitter, angry people and with good reason.

  2. If people are angry at the government for not giving them everything they could possibly want, it’s only because of ridiculous Dems who promise to deliver the American dream to them on a silver platter. Republicans haven’t “raped” anything by expecting people to work hard and provide for themselves.

By the way, to say that “hundreds of thousands of bitter, angry people” constitutes as “most Americans” doesn’t make any sense. There are 300 million people here. “Hundreds of thousands” doesn’t even get you 1%. Brilliant…

  3. I am hypersensitive to elitism and resent the condescention of elites in general (by the way, there are elites on both sides of the political spectrum). But his comments didn’t really bother me and I think they will blow over. What offends me about Obama is his position on abortion.
