I’ve shared some other stories about the pitfalls of universal healthcare. I’ve talked about some of Britain’s “creative” solutions which are being implemented in order to save their program from bankruptcy.
The story of this British couple, however, is the most powerful example of the high-quality care we can expect in Hillary or Barack’s universal system:
Catherine Kent, 27, and her partner Kevin Gray, 28, were devastated when they were told that their unborn baby had died at eight weeks and she was offered an abortion or pills to shorten the miscarriage.
But Catherine chose to wait for the baby to pass naturally – and a month later she was stunned when a scan revealed that her child was still alive.
I wonder how many British parents have taken the abortion or pills to move the process along and never know that the doctor misdiagnosed their otherwise-healthy baby as dead.
Oh please can we have universal healthcare in America!?
