Yep.  Arizona’s new strict imigration policy is working alright.  People who are here illegally are actually self-deporting.  One woman interviewed in this article can’t work, but doesn’t want to go back to Mexico because her children would no longer receive government health care, which they currently receive here in the states.

I’m not opposed to the charitable donations of the American people going to help these people.  I am opposed to our nation borrowing more money from China in order to pay for services we can’t afford for people who have broken our laws to get into this country.

Perhaps our entire nation could give this Arizona law a shot.

Several media outlets are reporting today that Prince Harry will be coming home from Afghanistan immediately following press reports that he had been serving there secretly for nearly three months.

Air Chief Marshal Jock Stirrup, the chief of the Defense Staff, made the decision to immediately withdraw the prince after senior commanders assessed the risks, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It’s too bad.  From what I can tell, he was serving honorably with his unit and he had literally saved the lives of other soldiers who had come under fire from the Taliban.  Unfortunately, his presence is now more of a danger to them than a help.

However, Britain should still be proud of their prince.

I wish we didn’t know that Prince Harry is serving in Afghanistan.  His life and the lives of the soldiers around him have been put at even greater risk over the leak of this information.  The Taliban is full of Islamic suicide pawns looking for a high-profile kill.  Unfortunately, the third in line to the British Throne is now on their radar…

Remember when CNN informed us that black women voting in the Democrats’ primaries face “a unique, and most unexpected dilemma… Should they vote their race, or should they vote their gender?  No other voting bloc in the country faces this choice.”

My question for CNN is, now that John Edwards is out of the race, what are white men to do?  “Should they vote their race (Hillary Clinton) or should they vote their gender (Barack Obama)?”  I doubt they’ll take the time to write an opinion piece about that though.

Call me crazy, but I still think that qualifications, values, and experience should be given greater priority than immutable traits…

You gotta love the U.N.  They just released a report saying that Palestinian terrorism is the “inevitable consequence“ of the Israeli occupation.  Okay… let’s leave reality for a minute and go along with that as the explanation of why they fire rockets into Israel, indiscriminantly killing men, women and children.

Then who do you blame when Hamas Palestinians drag Fatah Palestinians into the streets and execute them?  Israel?  Well, I’m sure the U.N. would love to waste American tax dollars and commission a “study” to say such a thing, but the real answer is no.

In reality the U.N., as usual, is lying.  The actions of Palestinian terrorists is not the “inevitable consequence” of Israeli occupation, but of the perverse ideology of militant Islam.

Two of my favorite quotes come from Thomas Paine’s “The American Crisis (IV), written in 1777:

Don’t tell Al Gore!  This is inconvenient indeed!

All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.

A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here.  The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to wipe out nearly all the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year’s time. For all four sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.

Scientists quoted in a past DailyTech article link the cooling to reduced solar activity which they claim is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases. The dramatic cooling seen in just 12 months time seems to bear that out. While the data doesn’t itself disprove that carbon dioxide is acting to warm the planet, it does demonstrate clearly that more powerful factors are now cooling it.

I wonder if Gore will make a documentary about that… heck, I’d even settle for him allowing debate on the topic now!  I wonder if David Suzuki still thinks we should imprison world leaders who don’t act to stop global warming!  Oh, and I wonder if that chick at The Weather Channel will finally admit that she was wrong to advocate the decertification of meteorologists who are skeptical of the man-made global warming hype.

I doubt it, but this is why they have to silence their opponents rather than debate them.  Bad science driven by a strictly political agenda…

…when the free-market can do it?

Today brings news that Brown has joined Stanford, Harvard, Yale and Dartmouth in offering free tuition for students whose family’s income is less than $100,000. Given that the schools are doing so with funds donated specifically for tuition, this is great news. Yet more schools will be forced to follow suit if they wish to stay competitive.

So much for Obama and Hillary’s promises to yoke American taxpayers to yet another entitlement.

Free-market forces strike again.
