Apparently it took “10 officers on motorcycle, two police cruisers and two police helicopters“ to escort Britney Spears to the hospital early this morning to “get help.” Two helicopters? What a waste of taxpayer resources…

Does anyone below the President and VP get such an escort? Things like that are exactly why she has the problem she does.
If she really wants to rehab, she could try the method I suggested for Owen Wilson.
Who knows if that would work for Britney… or anything, for that matter. I don’t know her case and even if I did, I’m not qualified to pass judgement. I just think it was an egregious waste of money by the LA authorities. What could possibly have required two helicopters?
I think it would have a better chance as anything that they’ll try where they coddle her and/or give her all the attention like they did just getting her to the hospital. Either approach may work… or she ends up whacking herself. There’s a point where know one knows the final or best answer and the patient has to make the final decision.
A half- nephew of mine spent a year being confined for psychiatric treatment. After the family got him out of the hospital in disgust, took him home and treated like everybody else, he rapidly became ‘normal’ and today lives normally- without medication- for many years. That certainly doesn’t work for everyone, but sometimes I think all the attention and a tendency to over-diagnose psychiatric problems leads to over-treatment. I have to wonder if her treatment would go better, iff she was treated as a normal person. Whatever they are doing up to now ain’t working.
