Pakistani government sources are now reporting that former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed, not by bullets or bomb shrapnel, but from a skull fracture suffered when trying to duck back down through the sun roof of the vehicle she was standing in. The shock wave from the suicide bomb blast caused her head to hit a lever attached to the sun roof resulting in the lethal head injury. This would be consistent with a report by one of the surgeons who tried to save Bhutto’s life who said that she was not shot, but died of a head wound (he assumed the wound was from bomb shrapnel).
Supporters of Bhutto are calling the explanation a “pack of lies,” saying Bhutto was shot twice, once in the abdomen and once in the head, and are accusing the government of “a serious security lapse.” Sadly, we’ll probably never know for sure as no autopsy was performed and Bhutto’s body was laid to rest earlier today.
Either way, a potentially-vital U.S. ally was tragically and brutally assassinated yesterday in Pakistan by Islamic extremists.

I believe it was under the nose of Mrs. Bhutto that AQ Kahn and his cohorts not only developed Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal but then also proceeded to proliferate it around the globe.
A crime of neglagence is still a crime, and of all the others she was accused of… this is the only one that really matters.
Of course the NEOCONS will be wringing their hands, and patting ‘ole Gen Musharaf on the back, saying.. atta boy.. you just do what you gotta do to keep up appearances of helping us. All the while Rudy will be looking for a 9/11 angle to spin on this thing.
Of course… it is a reminder of how important the war in Iraq is….. since we are fighting them over there instead of here.
But no.. here is the real sad truth. Al Qaeda and Pakistan NOT Iran and Iraq have been, and continue to be, the real source of the strategic threat to world stability. And instead of staying on the hunt for Bin Laden and co., including deep into Pakistan if necessarry. And instead of keeping real heat on Musharaf like we did on September 12th when we explained how we would wipe him off the face of planet earth if he did not cooperate… nooooooooo.
We engage in some half cocked, and half baked delusion of democratic imperialism as the method to secure our nation.
Bleeding borders in our own country, and completely overlooking the dangers of an unstable country that ALREADY HAD WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION… demonstrate the foolishness, amature, and confoundingly arrogant lack of insight by this administration.
Ohhh and by the way. It was our so called wise and “intellegent” men at the CIA and other services that once HAD their gunsights trained on al qaeda operative Muhammad Attah. Golly gee… how about next time squeezing the trigger —– before it is too late. NOOOO that won’t do… have to see where he goes, who he talks to… what he eats for breakfast…….
The war on terror is a fabrication. The war against terrorists needs to be discrete, symetrical (small and skilled special ops) and we need to pull the trigger.
The war against WMD’s needs to be STRATEGIC and emphasise maintaining our overall capabilities to engage both in agressive containment, and if necessary through direct intervention. Saddam was the smallest and weakest in the so-called axis of evil, and yet we managed to blatently persue the Bush Doctrine instead of minding our Strategic flank. Now everyone from Al Qaeda to Russia and China are licking their chops.
Dumb… I admit… but none the less – the STRATEGIC threats vastely outweigh and outnumber the chicken sh#t so-called evil islamo-facist empire of doom we are austensibly chasing around in the deserts of Iraq.

Those who plotted to murder Bhutto did not do anything in Pakistan that they would not gladly do in any American city, if given the opportunity to do so. Perhaps it is you who needs to “wake up” to the legitimate threat of Islamic extremism throughout the world.
