California, under Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-CA), just declared a state of emergency because they have a budget deficit of $14 billion. They’re so desperate to cut costs that they’re planning to release upwards of 22,000 “low-risk“ offenders from state jails and prisons, which could save a whopping $0.25 billion.
However, Schwarzenegger and his Democrat allies are still determined to implement a $14.4 billion universal health care plan. You do the math! The state is about $14 billion in the red, decides it will release criminals in order to save $0.25 billion, and then move forward with a plan to spend $14 billion more.
Somehow, I just don’t think that’s going to work… And since Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency, I’m assuming it will be our federal tax dollars that will go toward bailing them out. If that is the case, then we are all paying for the pandering efforts of incompetent politicians in California and ensure they have job security for years to come…
