Why We Must Defeat Islamo-Fascism

Last Friday, I wrote about Pearl Harbor and concluded my post with this observation (which is currently posted on the front page of Townhall.com), comparing our situation today to that which we faced during World War II:

“Our troops today are no less brave and our enemies no less evil.  That is why we should supply our men and women in uniform with the latitude and resources that they need to defeat Islamo-fascism with the same fervor and finality as Nazi Germany.”

Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan (1988-1990; 1993-1996) whose return to the country was met by a bomb blast that nearly took her life, gives us another reminder in the Washington Times today of why we have to win this struggle.

“The bomb that ravaged Benazir Bhutto’s homecoming processional in October appears to have been rigged to the clothes of a baby who was held up for the former prime minister to embrace…”

The depravity and determination of religious adherents who would kidnap a one-year-old baby girl, strap a bomb to her helpless, innocent body, and detonate her in an attempt to assassinate a political figure is exactly why we cannot afford to lose.

  1. Well said! How one chooses to fight a war says a lot about the underlying principles of the people who make the choice.

BTW: you are now linked on my DataTroll site; top of the Political category (lucky alphabetical fluke :) ). Glad to do it; you write very well.

  2. Thanks Mopenshaw… I’ll be adding you to ours shortly!

  3. Thanks, but it’s Data Troll. Not that I’m one who should ever give someone grief about spelling! :D

  4. My mistake… I think we’ve got it corrected.
