Last week, I wrote an article on this blog entitled “Murtha Missed the Memo?” (a post that was linked to from both the Washington Times and Wall Street Journal websites). Basically, the BCC post questions how, when even the biased New York Times is reporting good news in Iraq, Congressman John Murtha (D-PA) could still be declaring, “We can’t win militarily.”
Well, the memo apparently just arrived on Murtha’s desk. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting today that Murtha is now changing his tune, conceding this week, “I think the surge is working.” Cliff May of National Review reports that Murtha was “most encouraged by changes in the once-volatile Anbar province, where locals have started working closely with U.S. forces to isolate insurgents linked to Al Qaeda.” No word yet on whether Murtha plans to apologize to our men and women in uniform for doubting their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice.
I’m not holding my breath… he hasn’t even apologized for falsely accusing them of war crimes at Haditha…
